En el pasado las utilizaban los vaqueros para sujetar sus alforjas, en el montañismo o hasta en la guerra  y en las cacerías o pic-nics campestres para portar las mantas. 
In the past they were used by the cowmen to hold their saddlebags, in climbing or even in war and in the pic-nics at fields, hunts for carry the blankets.
